Sole F63 Treadmill Review

Sole F63 Treadmill

The Sole F63 treadmill is Sole Fitness’ entry-level model and is primarily built for walking and light jogging. There is a lot of competition among budget treadmills, but this model is one of the leaders in this class. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles that the other Sole treadmills have but it is still a durable treadmill and maintenance should be low as long as it’s used and maintained properly.

The MSRP on the Sole F63 is $1,899 but is usually on sale for around $999.99 and you pay no sales tax unless you are a resident of Utah.

Actual Expert and Customer Feedback:

Good Quality and Value for the Price -Fred Waters, Industry Expert

It isn't often that we are short for words but at $1000, this is a winner! -Treadmill Doctor

This machine is a perfect buy! Its price and features cant be beat. -Amazon Customer

An excellent value. Solid piece of equipment and seems very durable, however the built-in speakers and fans aren't the greatest and it isn't the quietest treadmill. -Amazon Customer

I live on a second floor of an apartment and it is solid and does not shake. -Amazon Customer

Great treadmill for those looking for a solid treadmill for modest workouts that won't break the bank. -Amazon Customer

It's a great treadmill but it's not as quiet as advertised. -Amazon Customer

Overview

Pros:
-Solid and Durable

Cons:
-Not the quietest treadmill
-Built-in speakers and cooling fans are subpar
-Really best for walkers and light joggers only

Based on expert and customer reviews, the Sole F63 is one of the better models in the budget class of treadmills. Industry expert, Fred Waters, says this model is, "good quality and value for the price." Treadmill Doctor, one of the most respected treadmill review sites online, gives it an overall rating of 6.95 out of 10 stating it's a, "great value!"

At the time of this review, customers who purchased it through Amazon.com gave it a 4 out of 5 stars. The common theme of their reviews was that the Sole F63 was a solid treadmill but not the quietest. One customer also commented that the built-in speakers and cooling fans were not that great.

And even though this treadmill is best suited for walkers and light joggers, a few customer reviews stated they were "heavy joggers" and had no problems with the treadmill. For long-term reliability, however, you should probably consider other Sole treadmills if you are a heavy jogger or regular runner.

Company Background

Sole Fitness markets treadmills and elliptical trainers and is owned by Dyaco, a major conglomerate. Dyaco also manufacturers Spirit treadmills, which are a lower-end line of treadmills. Sole treadmills are made with higher quality components and are better engineered. Sole started out as a company providing treadmills to hotels. Today their treadmills can be found in the Hilton and Omni hotel chains. That should tell you something about the durability of their treadmills. They expanded to the consumer treadmill market in the early 2000's and have quietly become a major player in the mid-range treadmill category.

The warranties provided by Sole Fitness are some of the best you'll find in its category. Lifetime warranties on the motor and frame are standard and the warranties on the parts are from 3-5 years and in-home service is from 1-2 years depending on model. Sole Fitness has been very successful by providing quality machines at a great value.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the Sole F63 treadmill! You’re right, it really is one of the better treadmills out there for under $1,000 because you do get a lot of bang for the buck. Good luck with your weight loss efforts.

I have the Sole F63 and I am very pleased with it.I have no problems with it at all. After one month of walking two miles a day ,I have loss 5 pounds.Slow but sure ,I need to lose 17 more to get where I need to be.I have some hbp problems and heart problems so I have to take it easy and not over do it.I don’t have a place where I feel safe to walk outside and on the sole f63 I can walk any time I want to, rain or shine and never leave the house.I went online and checked out every treadmill on the market and Sole was the only one I wanted.I also went to a few discount stores and Sears,Sole won out every time. It’s the best $999.98 I could spend and it’s worth every cent. Now you can get a treadmill for around $400.00 …..but remember, you get what you pay for.I went to a local Dick’s sporting goods store got mine,no payments for 12 months if that’s what you want( I make a payment every month of $100.00 and when taxes come back it will be payed off) Payed alittle extra and they set it up and made sure every thing worked,I am so pleased with my Sole f63 it’s alot of bang for the buck.

I’m sorry to hear about your horrible experience with your Sole F63. I will say that what you experienced as far as service goes isn’t typical of Sole based on my research. I have heard of a few horror stories here and there just like with any company, but for the most part Sole Fitness is one of the better companies out there in terms of taking care of their customer although it sounds like they dropped the ball with you.

Thanks for sharing your experience and taking the time to leave your comments. I encourage all comments here about this particular treadmill - positive or negative!

My new F63’s belt started to separate at 2 weeks, with 75 miles and 15 hours on the meter. I had to call Sole not once but twice only to discover that their local warranty tech no longer worked with them. After a third and demanding call they shipped a replacement belt and contracted another tech to come and replace it. The only problem is the new belt is not the same as the original with the engineered, designed, safety “stripe” or words Sole down each side. If you’re not an avid treadmill user you may not understand that it’s there for a reason; to help you with a quick glimpse over an extended use period or high rate of speed where your feet are relative to the moving belt and the remaining stationary deck. I find this change unbelievable and inexcusable for a $1000 piece of exercise equipment. Sole Fitness could offer no acceptable resolution and since my 30 days for return have past I’m stuck with machine that is substandard to design. And don’t forget that all the time you think you’re dealing with Sole for warranty you’ve actually been redirected to their contracted warranty service company
Did I mention that the machine also started to make a horrendous noise when lowered to the ground? And there’s all sorts of noises from the plastics and drive area when moving at over 6MPH?
