Smooth 6.75 Treadmill Review |
|
![]() |
Introduced in November 2009, the Smooth 6.75 treadmill replaces the 6.45 model. The Smooth 6.45 was already a great machine that featured a more-than-adequate 60-inch deck, a powerful 3.0 HP motor, and came with a convenient heart strap. So you might wonder, “Why fix what’s not broken?” That’s a good question and we address it in the Overview section below of this Smooth 6.75 treadmill review. The highlights of this latest model include a dual-stage, soft drop folding system and a deluxe sound system. It also features a large, dual color LCD display, Smooth’s famous ultra-quiet whisper weave treadbelt, and hand rail toggle switches. The MSRP on the Smooth 6.75 is $2,297.00 but is regularly on sale for $1,399.00 and you pay no sales tax unless you are a resident of Pennsylvania or Indiana. |

Actual Expert and Customer Feedback:
I bought the 6.75 recently, and I was very impressed with my experience. The sound system is really cool. The MP3 connection makes it really quick and easy to make playlists and listen to them while I work out. The unit is fairly heavy, and was kind of difficult to get up the stairs, but I'm definitely happy with my purchase. I am not a running fanatic, but i work out about 3-4 times a week, and I think this treadmill is perfect for me. -Smooth Fitness Customer Overview Best For: Walkers, Joggers, Runners (except hardcore marathon runners) Pros: Cons: The Smooth 6.75 treadmill was only launched late 2009, so it does not have a track record to boast of-yet. What it does have is the functionality of its predecessor, the Smooth 6.45, plus a few perks thrown in. Some of the basic features that the 6.75 has retained is the comfortable 20" by 60" walking surface and a powerful yet quiet 3.0 HP motor. The treadmill can go up to a speed of 12 mph and an incline high of 15. So how about its new features? The Smooth Fitness site highlights two of the biggest changes: the dual-stage, soft drop folding, and a deluxe sound system. But there's even more-the large, dual-color LCD display, hand rail toggle switches that makes it easy for the user to adjust the speed and incline, and a two-speed cooling fan. The Smooth 6.75 treadmill comes with a price tag of $1,499. With all these great features and the high quality and unparalleled warranty from Smooth, it won't be long before this treadmill will become another one of Smooth Fitness' more popular models and an industry "Best Buy." |

Fern:
Thanks for pointing out our error. It is indeed 241 lbs. When we put this review together, Smooth had this treadmill listed at 205 lbs. on their website so that was the figure we went with. I have confirmed with them that it is 241 lbs. and have made the correction on this website as well.
Thanks!

Smooth Fitness sales people have told me the 6.75 treadmill weighs 241 lbs. and that they are absolutely sure of this. Thus, I am confused by the 205 lb. weight. I would appreciate some clarification if you can get it. Thanks.
Sriram:
No, the Smooth 6.75 treadmill doesn’t have any issues but I agree with you that I initially gave it too few stars. After you left your comment I spent a little more time comparing this treadmill to the Sole F80 - the treadmill that is almost identical to the 6.75 (but a different company obviously). The Sole F80 is rated a Best Buy by a number of treadmill experts and consumers alike so I consider it to be the benchmark.
If you compare these two side-by-side using our comparison treadmill tool, you’ll see they are very similar. However, the Smooth 6.75 has a slightly smaller roller (2.5 vs. 2.75 on the Sole F80) and is 45 pounds less weight. When it comes to treadmills, the more weight the better because it will be more stable during your workouts. However, on the other hand the Smooth 6.75 has 5 more inches of running surface. So in the end I think the Smooth 6.75 should be upgraded to 4 stars and I’ve made the change. I put more importance on the weight of the machine than the running surface as that extra 5 inches is really only helpful for very tall people.
Thanks,

Why have you given 3 star for 675 product? Does this model have any serious issues?
Cons:
-No track record (new model)
-Not built for hardcore marathon runners
